Grasso review: Bite Twice

Huge thanks to Gerardo & Paolo from Bite Twice who blessed us with their presence a couple of weeks ago, and left this Grasso review.

The boys tried a selection of dishes, including “Mom’s Spaghetti” (our signature meatball pasta dish), penne alla vodka, chicken parm, all washed down with a couple of beers, cocktails and a tiramisu served with dessert wine.

“Genuinely some of the best meatballs I’ve ever had”
— Bite Twice

Here’s what Paul and Gerry had to say in their review

“So we finally got round to trying Grasso, the family-run Italian-American joint in the middle of Soho. It hasn't even been open a year, but feels like a well-loved institution already. Settled in with a couple of beers and got to work on these fried mozzarella sticks. We got the cliche cheese pull shot while people looked at us like a pair of insufferable posers.

Fried cheese and honey, I mean, what's, what's not to love?

They were pretty divine, but the meatballs were on a whole different level entirely.

It just, like, breaks away and apart. That's so good. Genuinely some of the best meatballs I've had. I think the sauce is really rich and deep. So tender.

Then the mains, penne alla vodka and chicken parm.

Like, look at the colour of that sauce. Brother, I reckon this is their signature item. It's lovely

... absolutely cracking. Doesn't it? It's about a pint of sauce on it. Really well-balanced, beautifully rich, sweet sauce. Gorgeous.

The service at Grasso was second to none, and while we pondered what to have for dessert, this legend poured us a glass of this seriously good dessert wine.

Handmade by Nonna Grasso. Yeah. Very creamy, very boozy.

The food at Grasso was spot on, and this blueberry cheesecake was no exception. We can highly recommend this place.

This is how we lunch”
